Sweeney Todd and the Demon Barber of Fleet Street

Sweeney Todd at the Barrow Street Theatre was a theatrical production that ran from March 2017 to August 2018 after multiple extensions. The production was a unique and immersive adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street by the Tooting Arts Club. The Barrow Street Theatre revival was produced by Rachel Edwards, Jenny Gersten, Seaview Productions, and Nate Koch as executive producer, in association with Barrow Street Theatre. Unlike traditional productions of the show, which are typically staged on large proscenium stages with elaborate sets, costumes, and props, this production was staged in a more intimate and immersive setting. The Barrow Street Theatre was transformed into a replica of a Victorian-era London pie shop, with the audience seated at tables and served meat pies during the performance created by former White House Executive Pastry Chef Bill Yosses.

The production received critical acclaim was nominated for several awards, including several Drama Desk Awards and a Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical.
